If you haven’t already heard, Desmond King had a pretty decent weekend as he brought home the Jim Thorpe Award for the nations top defensive back and was named to the Associated Press’ First Team All America. Not too shabby for a 3 star recruit that was hardly recruited.
King is Iowa’s first ever winner of the Thorpe Award and his eight interceptions this past season were tied for 2nd in the nation.
