The Iowa Hawkeyes (7-1, 1-0) had last second heroics for the second time in five days, both with alum Paul Burmeister on the call. Josh Dix hit a logo three as time expired to give the Hawks an 80-79 lead over Northwestern (6-3, 0-1). Dix finished with 22 points on 9/16 shooting, including 3/8 from deep.

It was nearly a disaster as Iowa came out on fire, playing excellent defense alongside hot shooting, to build a 17-point lead in the first half. They shot 6/11 from deep & 65% overall in the frame as each of Dix, Payton Sandfort, & Owen Freeman each reached double digits.
