COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A three-run first inning held up as Ohio State claimed a series victory with a 3-0 win over the University of Iowa baseball team on Sunday afternoon at Bill Davis Stadium. It was the third straight shutout in the series.
The Buckeyes took advantage of two free bases -- consecutive walks to leadoff the game by UI sophomore Nick Gallagher -- when Ronnie Dawson hit a two-run double down the left field line to give Ohio State a 2-0 lead before an out was retired.
