IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The 15th-ranked University of Iowa baseball team scored eight runs in the first two innings to cruise to its eighth straight Big Ten series win, downing Minnesota, 10-2, in game two of the three-game weekend series Saturday afternoon at Duane Banks Field.
The Hawkeyes scored 10 runs on 10 hits for the game to improve to 36-12 overall and 17-3 in Big Ten Conference play, still 1 1/2 games behind league-leading Illinois (18-1). It is the second consecutive season Iowa has won the series over the Gophers.
