IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa baseball team rode the momentum from a four-run second inning and got a complete game gem from C.J. Eldred to pick up an 8-1 victory over Maryland in the Big Ten Conference opener on Friday afternoon at Duane Banks Field.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Hawkeyes broke through against Terrapin All-American Mike Shawaryn in the second with a two-out rally.
