Our national nightmare is finally over. After facing the long dark of the offseason we’re finally on the cusp of college football’s return with a four-game slate of games in week 0.
Perhaps it’s just me, but the beginning of this season is like plunging into an ice cold lake after wandering for days in the desert, something most of us has done at least twice in our lives I’m sure. A “regular” offseason is taxing enough, but these last eight months have been particularly pregnant with expectation and excitement, making the wait that much more difficult. The new expanded playoff would finally make the postseason race more thrilling, shiny new teams in each major conference promised exciting matchups and staggering profits.
