The Marseille striker netted three times against Montpellier, taking him ahead of Manchester United's former PSG star in terms of Ligue 1 goals scored
Bafetimbi Gomis inspired Marseille to a 5-1 mauling of Montpellier on Friday evening, with his hat-trick carrying him past the Ligue 1 haul of former Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The now Manchester United forward netted 113 times during four productive seasons at Parc des Princes.
France international Gomis can now claim to have bettered that return, with his latest treble taking him on to 115 efforts.
The 31-year-old cannot boast a strike rate similar to Ibrahimovic, though, as he is now into his 11th season in the French top-flight – having previously graced the books at St Etienne and Lyon.
