The Whitecaps have missed many of their targets this season, but the biggest one they're missing is in front of goal.
VANCOUVER — Last season was the Vancouver Whitecaps' best year in their MLS era. Whether you look at points, wins or a highest finish in the standings, it was an all-around season of success. They lifted their first Canadian Championship and made their debut appearance in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Improving on such a successful season was always going to be difficult, but the targets were clear: a deeper playoff run, retaining the Voyageurs Cup and qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champions League.
