U.S. Soccer has put its support behind Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan ahead of Friday's FIFA presidential election.
Prince Ali bin al-Hussein is poised to fall short of the FIFA presidency for the second time, but he'll again do so with the support of U.S. Soccer.
Federation president Sunil Gulati announced Thursday that U.S. Soccer will vote for Prince Ali in the FIFA presidential election, which will be held Friday in Zurich. The gesture comes nine months after the federation put its weight behind Prince Ali in the Jordanian's failed attempt to unseat then-FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
