Toronto FC, Damien Perquis agree to part ways

The Polish center back will leave the club after spending a season and a half in MLS.

Toronto FC and defender Damien Perquis have agreed to part ways, the club announced Tuesday, freeing up substantial salary cap space as the summer transfer window ramps up.

The Polish center back made 37 appearances over two MLS campaigns with Toronto since signing from Spanish side Real Betis in January 2015.

"After speaking with Damien, we have agreed to allow him to pursue other opportunities," Toronto general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a news release.

Perquis started 11 games for TFC this season but had appeared in just two of the club's past seven matches.
