The Canadian international will be wearing red next year on a fulltime basis after coming to terms with his hometown club.
Will Johnson is coming home.
Toronto FC announced on Friday that it has acquired the Canadian international midfielder from the Portland Timbers in exchange for a conditional second round draft pick in 2017 and targeted allocation money. As per MLS policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to add another Canadian international and veteran player with MLS experience that has won two MLS Cups with two different clubs in his career,” Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a club statement.
