Mamelodi Sundowns’ clash against Orlando Pirates was ideal preparation for their showdown with Al Ahly, according to midfielder Tiyani Mabunda.
The clash was recently brought forward to Monday night and the Tshwane giants held on for a tough 0-0 draw which saw them remain top of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log.
Attention now shifts onto the Caf Champions League where Sundowns are playing for a place in the semi-finals as they take on arguably one of the continent’s most successful sides, Al Ahly, and the match against Pirates has perhaps prepared Pitso Mosimane’s men adequately.
