The Belgium international makes the bench after recovering from a hip injury, while John Terry is preferred to Kurt Zouma in central defence for Saturday's clash with Watford
Eden Hazard has been named as a substitute for Guus Hiddink's first game back in charge of Chelsea.
The Belgium international missed the 3-1 win over Sunderland on December 19 due to the hip injury he picked up in Jose Mourinho's final game in charge, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.
Hiddink makes one change from the side that beat Sunderland as Kurt Zouma is replaced by John Terry in central defence.
