Sydney FC smash Victory to book place in grand-final

Revenge is a dish best served cold and Sydney FC showed no mercy on Sunday night as they beat Melbourne Victory 6-0 in their A-League semi-final.

One year since extra-time defeat in the corresponding fixture last season, the Sky Blues were on track to make amends from the outset as they opened the scoring just three minutes in with Lawrence Thomas unable to hold the ball under pressure from Aaron Calver, who got the decisive touch.

Victory would go on to dominate play in the first 45 minutes but struggled to carve out any clear chances and Sydney would make them pay severely just before the break.
