Sevilla have confirmed that their renowned sporting director Monchi is leaving the club amid rumours he has agreed to join Roma.
The former goalkeeper, who has signed the likes of Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic and brought through Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas, among others, from the club's academy, has been in his current role for over 16 years.
He has spurned interest from a number of top clubs on the back of his success in Andalusia but has now decided to move on, with the Italian capital his likely destination.
Roma, whose president is the American billionaire James Pallotta, parted ways with their sporting director, Walter Sabatini, in October of last year.
