Servant, leader, team player: Kolo Toure deserves Europa League success

The Ivorian is looking to replicate his Africa Cup of Nations exploits against Sevilla in the final of the Europa League, and few would begrudge him his big moment with Liverpool.

At the Matmut Atlantique exactly eight months ago, Kolo Toure had his first kick of the season for Liverpool. He had been overlooked in the opening five Premier League games, before starting as part of a weakened XI in the 1-1 draw at Bordeaux with the club beginning its Europa League campaign.

On Wednesday night, in the climax of the same competition against Sevilla, he will be one of the central figures as the Reds contest their first continental final in nine years.
