Roma president James Pallotta has hit out at the Italian press for "making s*** up" amid claims he is about to sack manager Eusebio Di Francesco.
The Giallorossi lost 2-0 to SPAL at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, leading to a report from Corriere dello Sport claiming that Pallotta had held meetings with the club's hierarchy regarding Di Francesco and his future.
Pallotta, though, has hit out at such reports, insisting that he did not hold any conversations with the Serie A club's powerbrokers over the possibility of axing the manager.
“Contrary to certain articles in today’s Italian media, I didn’t speak to Franco Baldini, Monchi, Mauro Baldissoni or Alex Zecca after the match about the coach and any journalists reporting on imaginary conversations are simply making s*** up," he said in a statement released via the club's Twitter account.
