Robbie Keane has given Martin O'Neill a boost after he took part in training a week ahead of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2016 opener against Sweden.
Keane missed Ireland's tournament warm-up friendlies against the Netherlands and Belarus at the end of May and O'Neill revealed that, due to a calf strain, there were doubts over the LA Galaxy striker's fitness leading into the game against Sweden, which takes place on Monday, June 13.
Nevertheless, the 35-year-old joined the squad for training in Dublin on Monday, with his left leg heavily strapped and O'Neill revealed that the striker is "ahead of schedule.
