Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo share a point and a red card each during a weekend stalemate at BC Place in Major League Soccer.
VANCOUVER – Red cards usually change the tone of games, either for the better or the worse. On Saturday at BC Place, the entertainment value of a 1-1 draw between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo took an upturn after both sides were reduced to ten men shortly before halftime.
Referee Drew Fischer’s decision to send off Houston midfielder Alex and Whitecaps captain Pedro Morales following an altercation between the pair seemed to tip the balance of play towards Vancouver after the break, especially after ‘Caps striker Octavio Rivero cancelled out DaMarcus Beasley’s opening goal for the Dynamo.
