Red Bulls defender Baah out 4-5 months with broken tibia

The Ghanaian center back is poised to miss the rest of 2016 after suffering the injury Sunday against the Portland Timbers.

New York Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch announced Monday that defender Gideon Baah will be sidelined four to five months with a broken tibia, dealing another blow to the club's beleaguered center back corps.

Baah, who was replaced in the 22nd minute of a 0-0 draw with the Portland Timbers on Sunday, has scored two goals in nine appearances since arriving from HJK Helsinki in February. The 24-year-old missed nine matches earlier this season with a hamstring injury.
