A bad season for Zidane's men gets even worse as Embarba's 23rd-minute penalty - awarded after Vallejo pulled back on Guerra inside the six-yard box - condemns them to an embarrassing loss at the hands of a side that started the game bottom of the table. The visitors managed just a few shots on target all match, neither of them coming close to beating Alberto Garcia, whereas Rayo had a Guerra shot saved off the line and also forced Courtois into a couple of good stops.
