Player Spotlight: Impact’s Oduro proving he’s more than just a speedster

Dominic Oduro has generally been considered a one-dimensional player, but this season’s performances suggest the contrary.

MONTREAL — Following the Montreal Impact’s remarkable 4-4 draw on Saturday at the Columbus Crew, a game in which they had been trailing 4-1, Dominic Oduro returned to his locker and read through a bombardment of messages on his cellphone. They were from incredulous friends and acquaintances who couldn’t understand why, in the 58th minute, he didn’t shoot when he had the chance.

At that point in the game, the Impact were down 4-2 and Oduro had a decision to make.
