Pellegrini once again revises Kompany return schedule

The Manchester City boss had suggested Kompany would not be back in action until towards the end of the season, but he now believes the end of February is a realistic target.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has moved to ease fears that Vincent Kompany could miss much of the Premier League title run-in.

Pellegrini suggested earlier this week that his captain, who has been ruled out with yet another calf problem since Boxing Day, could return "for the last part of the season" when discussing his players' fitness.

But in his Friday press briefing the Chilean said he did not remember making such a claim, and that he fully expects the Belgian to return by March, even if he could not put his finger on the exact nature of the current problem.
