U.S. national team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya is set to join the Philadelphia Union after completing a $1 million transfer from French club FC Nantes.
The Philadelphia Union have completed the transfer of U.S. national team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, who will join the MLS club on a $1 million transfer from French side FC Nantes.
The move ends a prolonged courtship between Bedoya and MLS, one which began with interest from the Union a year ago and nearly culminated in a transfer to the Colorado Rapids last winter before falling through at the last minute.
Bedoya, 29, is coming off a career year, which saw him thrive in Nantes' midfield, even after the disappointment of seeing his proposed move to Colorado fall through in January.
