The Ghana international is dropping to North America's second tier after being sold to the Florida club.
NASL side Miami FC announced it has acquired Kwadwo Poku from New York City FC.
Poku, 24, broke out with NYCFC last season, becoming a fan favorite while notching four goals and seven assists in 27 appearances – just six of which were starts. The Ghanaian fell out of favor with new coach Patrick Vieira this season, with just seven league appearances to his name in 2016.
“This is a move that really makes sense for us,” NYCFC sporting director Claudio Reyna said in a club release.
