MLS Review: Red Bulls close the gap on City rivals

Bradley Wright-Phillips became the New York Red Bull's MLS top scorer in their 3-1 win over the Montreal Impact in MLS action.

The New York Red Bulls are two points off the top of the Eastern Conference after defeating Montreal Impact 3-1 on Saturday.

Sean Davis had two assists as Bradley Wright-Phillips' double helped him become the Red Bulls' franchise-leading goal scorer.

Montreal took the lead after 21 minutes through Luciano Piatti, who scored his 13th goal of the season, before the Red Bulls equalized a minute later through Wright-Phillips.

He added another in the 41st minute, before Davis effectively sealed the three points in the 46th, taking full advantage of New York City’s 3-3 draw with the Columbus Crew.
