Officials within the Mexican Football Federation have declined to comment on two national team players being implicated in the Paradise Papers leak.
The papers are a large leak of documents pertaining to offshore investments which the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists is examining how politicians and famous figures use tax havens. Mexican investigative magazine Proceso reported Thursday that Porto players Diego Reyes and Hector Herrera both are named in the documents.
Shortly after arriving in Portugal, each player created two companies based in Malta, according to the report, which has no Tax Information Agreement with Mexico.
