It was a big week for Miguel Layun.
The Mexico left back came into the Gran Derbi for Sevilla at halftime, helping the club to a 2-2 draw with rival Real Betis just days after he scored against Real Madrid. Very few Mexicans have scored against Los Blancos, with Layun joining a small group that includes names like Hugo Sanchez and Carlos Vela.
Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado also took part in the rivalry matchup with Sevilla, as both teams prepare to take part in the Europa League next year. He was substituted at halftime and criticized in the aftermath of the match, but Betis manager Quique Setien defended him by calling him one of the best players he's ever coached.
