Matildas coach Ante Milicic has signed a one-year contract extension with Australia's women's national team ensuring his presence until after the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Milicic was brought in to replace previous coach Alen Stajcic, who was sacked in controversial circumstances earlier this year for confidential reasons.
While his arrival wasn't under the best circumstances, Milicic helped guide the Matildas to the inaugural Cup of Nations and is delighted to extend his stay in charge beyond the upcoming Women's World Cup.
"There is no greater privilege than leading an Australian national team so I am honoured to serve the Westfield Matildas for a further 12 months,” Milicic said.
