Marcelo hurting after 'horrible' night which saw Brazil's World Cup dream die

The Real Madrid defender had harboured ambitions of going all the way in Russia but saw the Selecao come up short in a quarter-final tie with Belgium

Marcelo admits Brazil have been left hurt after enduring a “horrible night” against Belgium in the quarter-finals of World Cup 2018.

The Selecao entered the last eight encounter in Kazan as favourites to go all the way and claim a sixth global crown.

Tite’s side are, however, heading home after suffering a 2-1 defeat to the Kevin De Bruyne-inspired Red Devils.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo feels the final result was “unfair” on Brazil, who dominated for long periods, and is disappointed to have seen his dreams dashed in frustrating circumstances.
