Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary has stated the country’s dream of reaching the knockout stage of the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
In their last two World Cup outings in 1934 and 1990, the Pharaohs have failed to get out of the group stage.
However, ahead of their return to the global stage - after a 28-year absence - the Al-Taawoun shot-stopper who is set to become the oldest player to grace the quadrennial showpiece has made known the team’s goal in Russia.
“I am happy like all the Egyptians for qualifying for the World Cup after a 28-year wait,” El-Hadary was quoted as saying by KingFut.
