Kompany out for four months, reveals Belgium physio

The veteran defender will miss the start of Pep Guardiola's reign at Manchester City due to his latest injury setback.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will be sidelined for four months with his latest injury, Belgium's team physiotherapist has revealed.

The center back suffered a torn thigh muscle and damaged his groin in City's 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday, ruling him out of Euro 2016.

Now Belgium's national team physio Lieven Maesschalck has confirmed that he will miss the start of Pep Guardiola's reign at the Etihad Stadium, with a September return scheduled.
