New York Red Bulls designated player Alejandro “Kaku” Romero Gamarra has completed his one-time switch to join the Paraguay national team setup.
The 23-year-old played for Argentina at the youth level, including playing for the country at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, but had never been called into the senior squad.
Currently the MLS leader in assists with nine in nine matches, Kaku's switch has been completed and he has been called into Paraguay's camp for an international friendly against Japan on June 12.
The Red Bulls signed Kaku in February from Huracan in Argentina on a designated player deal and so far the move has paid off well, with New York top of the league in points earned per match played.
