The Blues take on MK Dons in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, but their young striker will almost certainly not be involved against one of his former loan clubs.
In the FA Cup fourth round last season, Patrick Bamford scored the winning goal for his loan club Middlesbrough in its shock 2-0 win at Manchester City. This season, he is back at his parent club Chelsea but will sit out its visit to another one of his temporary homes, MK Dons, so that he does not become ineligible to - you guessed it - go out on loan again.
