The former assistant coach will take charge of the club for the remainder of the 2016 campaign after the exit of Owen Coyle.
The Houston Dynamo have appointed Wade Barrett as interim coach for the remainder of the 2016 season, the club announced Tuesday, filling the void left by Owen Coyle's abrupt departure.
Barrett is in his seventh season as a member of the Dynamo coaching staff after serving as captain of the team from 2006 to 2009. He has already led the coaching staff for draws against the Vancouver Whitecaps and FC Dallas following Coyle's exit May 25 to return to England, where the Scot has since been hired as manager of Blackburn Rovers.
