Houston Dynamo sign Argentinian midfielder Tomas Martinez as designated player

The 22-year-old attacker joins Erick Torres and Alberth Elis as the club's three designated players

The Houston Dynamo have announced the signing of Argentinean midfielder Tomas Martinez as a young designated player.

The 22-year-old joins from Portuguese side Braga, where he failed to establish himself following a move from Argentine power River Plate in 2015.

“Tomas Martinez is a player who we’ve tracked for quite some time, and after a lengthy process we’re pleased to welcome him to the Houston Dynamo,” Dynamo general manager Matt Jordan said in a club release.

“At just 22 years old, he’s a young and very talented midfielder whose profile will add quality and creativity to our team.
