Morocco made a last minute bid to host the 2026 World Cup but they have already found support from Qatar, where the 2026 edition would be held.
The African nation will be up against a joint bid from USA, Canada and Mexico as they look to win the hosting rights for the very first time after having attempted on four earlier occasions – 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010.
Interestingly, back in 1994, they lost the hosting rights to USA, who would get a chance to host for the second time.
Morocco has hosted the FIFA Club World Cup on two occasions and FIFA president Gianni Infantino has claimed that the African country is “capable, in terms of infrastructure and organization, of hosting a World Cup.
