Robert Lewandowski netted a hat-trick to send Carlo Ancelotti's side on their way to a thrashing of HSV.
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich smashed Hamburg 8-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Arturo Vidal opened the scoring 17 minutes in with a low drive from the top of the box, before Robert Lewandowski doubled Bayern's lead from the spot seven minutes later.
The Polish striker made the points secure minutes before half-time with his second and his team's third goal of the match.
Lewandowski completed his hat-trick 10 minutes into the second half before David Alaba netted just two minutes later.
