Guardiola rubbishes prospect of signing replacement for injured Bravo

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will not sign a replacement for Claudio Bravo following the goalkeeper's injury.

Goal understands that City fear Bravo could miss the entirety of the season due to a ruptured Achilles, leaving Ederson as the club's only senior stopper.

Joe Hart and Angus Gunn were allowed to leave the club during the summer, joining Burnley and Southampton respectively, leaving City thin on goalkeeping reinforcements.

City recalled Montenegro Under-21 international Aro Muric from a season-long loan deal with NAC Breda to cover for Bravo's absence and, despite suggestions that the club could recruit a free agent, such as former Liverpool 'keeper Diego Cavalieri, Guardiola says they will stick with what they have, including 20-year-old Daniel Grimshaw.
