The highly anticipated Libertadores showpiece seemed to be petering out to a draw with Argentine side Lanus frustrating the Brazilian hosts in Porto Alegre.
But Cicero, who replaced Jailson in the 72nd minute, stabbed the ball past Lanus goalkeeper Esteban Andrada with seven minutes remaining following Jael's flick-on.
