Giovinco's back! Toronto FC striker ends goal drought with hat trick masterclass

The 29-year-old had been visibly frustrated during a nine-game goalless streak, but he thrust himself back into the MLS Golden Boot race on Saturday.

TORONTO — Slump? What slump?

On a night when Toronto FC welcomed a designated player (Jozy Altidore) back from injury and introduced the Canadian national team's active goal scoring leader (Tosaint Ricketts) as a new member of the side, it was Sebastian Giovinco who stole the spotlight and put to rest any talk of a dry spell.

On Saturday night at BMO Field, the Reds downed D.C. United 4-1 on the back of a Giovinco hat trick.
