On Tuesday, FIFA President Gianni Infantino gave the clearest indication yet that, for the first time ever, video replays will be used at the next World Cup.
OK, so he said "I hope" that Russia 2018 will be the first with video replays. And it's true that Infantino likely won't be as omnipotent as his predecessor at the FIFA helm. But it's equally true that he's also less of an idealogue. Maybe it's the years spent as a lawyer or as UEFA's de facto chief executive, but compared to Sepp Blatter, he strikes you more as someone who sees his job as listening to what the majority want him to do and then figuring out how to do it, rather than laying out a grand vision for how the game should be.
