The Mexican striker failed to score in MLS play with the Dynamo despite his designated player status.
Erick "Cubo" Torres has joined Cruz Azul on loan until the end of 2016, potentially ending his disappointing stay with the Houston Dynamo.
The Liga MX side has an option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan period. If Cruz Azul decides against the move, Torres will return to the Dynamo for the 2017 preseason.
Torres, 23, signed with Houston as a designated player prior to the 2015 season, and joined midway through the campaign after a loan spell at Chivas de Guadalajara.
