The ex-Rosario Central and San Lorenzo trainer begins a new challenge, Sao Paulo revealed, after eight months on the bench at the Serie A side.
Sao Paulo has confirmed that coach Edgardo Bauza will leave the club in order to take up the vacant role at the Argentina national team.
The post had been empty since Gerardo Martino handed in his resignation shortly after the end of the 2016 Copa America.
While official confirmation from the Argentine FA has yet to arrive, Sao Paulo revealed that the trainer was moving back to his home country.
"Sao Paulo announce that Edgardo Bauza has revealed he received and accepted on Monday evening an offer from the Argentine Football Association (AFA) to take over the national team," a statement read.
