The Major League Soccer side adds the midfielder using targeted allocation money.
The San Jose Earthquakes continued their recent spending spree, adding midfielder Jahmir Hyka on a multi-year contract, the team announced Friday.
The Albanian international was acquired using targeted allocation money after having spent the last six seasons with Luzern of the Swiss Super League.
“Hyka brings an element of surprise to any team and to any match,” Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli said in a news release. “Being a player that is very strong technically, he attacks the defense in one-on-one situations without any indication of which way he will go or the pass that he will be making.
