D.C. United acquires Marcelo Sarvas from Colorado

The Brazilian midfielder spent three seasons with the Galaxy before moving to the Rapids prior to the 2015 campaign.

D.C. United has announced it has acquired midfielder Marcelo Sarvas from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for targeted allocation money and a 2018 conditional SuperDraft pick.

Sarvas, 34, spent three seasons with the LA Galaxy, where he won MLS Cups in 2012 and 2014, before moving on to Colorado in 2015. The Brazilian played in 25 matches for the Rapids, dealing with a knee injury early in the season.

“Marcelo brings MLS experience and a veteran presence to our group,” United general manager Dave Kasper said in a club release.
