The Indian women’s national football team geared up for their maiden participation in the COTIF tournament in Spain with a win over UD Alzira in a friendly on Monday.
Skipper Bala Devi was on target for India in the 19th minute before Dangmei Grace doubled the lead in the second half (51’). Kamala Devi sealed the win for India with a goal in the dying minutes of the game.
Goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan was called into action in the fifth minute of the game to deny the opponents before Bala Devi came close to giving India the lead with an effort that struck the woodwork.
