Columbus Crew midfielder Artur breaks wrist in loss to Red Bulls

Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed the injury in his postgame press conference

Columbus Crew midfielder Artur sustained a broken wrist Saturday night against the New York Red Bulls, Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed.

The Brazilian midfielder was injured on an awkward fall in the early stages of the contest, which the visiting Crew went on to lose 2-0. Artur was in noticeable pain after the fall and was immediately replaced by Mohammed Abu.

Following the contest, Berhalter told media Artur had sustained a serious injury.

“I think he was doing great so far,” Berhalter said of Artur's performance this season.
