The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester but demonstrated they have plenty of talent in reserve as the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham stepped in.
Chelsea handed a full debut to Fikayo Tomori, a home debut to Tammy Abraham and gave Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Bertrand Traore and Baba Rahman game time against Leicester as Guus Hiddink gave Blues fans a glimpse of the future.
It was Abraham who almost stole the headlines against the champion at Stamford Bridge with a stunning 20-yard strike from the edge of the box in the 90th minute that flew just wide of the post.
