CAS rejects Munir El Haddadi's Morocco switch, set to miss World Cup

Fifa's ruling that prevented Munir El Haddadi from playing for Morocco stands with the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejecting the forward's appeal.

The Alaves striker has had his initial request to turn out for the Atlas Lions rejected by Fifa on March 13 and hopes of ever representing his father's country has been dealt a huge blow as CAS blocked his latest attempt - made in April to boost his hopes of going to the World Cup.

El Haddadi had made a cameo appearance for Spain's senior side in their 5-1 thrashing of Macedonia on September 8, 2014, during the Euro 2016 qualifiers, and will not be able to represent the Atlas Lions in Russia.
